Ireland Holiday Planner

Capital:  Dublin

Currency: Euro

Language: English (Also Irish)

Climate:  Ireland has a mild, moist, temperate oceanic climate ) shaped by the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf Stream. As a result, the country avoids extreme temperatures, with winters typically ranging from 4–8°C and summers staying cool at around 12–16°C. The weather is famously changeable — rain, wind, and sudden shifts are part of daily life — but this is also what keeps the landscape so lush and green.
May and June tend to bring the longest, brightest days, while the west coast is generally wetter and slightly milder than inland areas. Overall, you can expect gentle seasons, plenty of moisture, and pleasant but unpredictable conditions that give Ireland its distinctive charm.

Electricity: Powersockets and plugs of type G (the UK-style 3-pronged plug with rectangular pins) because Ireland uses these sockets, operating at 230V and 50Hz

Safety:   Ireland is generally considered a very safe country with friendly locals, making it great for tourists, including solo travelers, but petty crime (pickpocketing, bag snatching) is common in cities, and visitors should stay alert, especially at night or in crowded areas, by being aware of surroundings, watching belongings, avoiding displaying valuables, and being cautious of scams like drink spiking. While serious violent crime is less frequent, recent reports mention increased anti-social behaviour and incidents like stabbings in Dublin, so common-sense precautions are essential. is generally very safe.

Transportation:  Transportation tourism in Ireland offers diverse options like extensive bus (Bus Éireann, CityLink) and rail networks (Irish Rail for intercity, DART/Luas in Dublin), plus driving, ferries, and domestic flights, with the Transport for Ireland (TFI) website serving as a central resource for planning journeys, though cars are often needed for rural exploration despite public transport's convenience in cities.
