The overall verdict
Hotel Port Jardín Milenio is a peaceful, elegant hotel set beside Elche’s famous Palmeral, giving it a lush, almost tropical feel. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the outdoor pool area is a real highlight — quiet, leafy, and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.
The location is excellent: close enough to walk into Elche’s historic centre, yet tucked away enough to feel like a retreat. Staff are friendly, breakfast is generous, and the gardens make the whole place feel calm and secluded.

Full test review
After a day of cycling, I checked into Hotel Port Jardín Milenio, a peaceful retreat tucked beside the UNESCO‑listed Palmeral. From the moment we walked through the doors, the atmosphere felt calm and inviting — the kind of place where you instantly slow down.
The hotel sits within beautifully maintained gardens, with tall palms, shaded walkways, and a sense of privacy that makes it feel far removed from the bustle of the city. Even though it’s only a short walk from the historic centre, the setting gives it a resort‑like feel. The lobby is bright and spacious, with a classic style that leans more towards timeless than trendy.

The room:
There is a selection of different rooms, from double rooms to suites, ranging from sea views to inland views. There are also apartments available.
I had an inland double room that was freshly decorated. The room was fully airconditioned and had a nice balcony. The ensuite bathroom was spotless and was fitted with a bath that also served as a shower.
There was a basket with soaps, shampoo's,....
The restaurant:
There is plenty of choice for food. Where i enjoyed the Vasco da Gama restaurant where they serve buffet style meals, there is also Barraquinha, a restaurant located right on the beach.
In the pool bar, there is also a menu with light meals suitable for the entire family.
So what is the Vasco da Gama restaurant like? I enjoyed the evening buffet which was varied with plenty of Portuguese specialties being served. Dishes ranged from regional to international options, grilled dishes, a variety of salads and appetizers and a selection of local desserts.
In the morning, a continental buffet style breakfast is offered. The buffet has a large selection and there is nothing better than starting the day with a delicious breakfast.
It must be said that the restaurant is busy , even when I visited in May. But don't worry, there is always place available.

The area:
The hotel is located on a magnificent beach that runs for miles in each direction. The hotel is the perfect location if you want to discover the Algarve or venture into Spain. That's correct, the Spanish border is only a 10 minute drive away. There are two options to get to Spain, you can drive across the Guadiana on the A22 or take the ferry between Vila Real de Santo Antonio (Portugal) and Ayamonte (Spain).
I would highly recommend taking the ferry.
