A Life of Adventure, Big and Small
With a deep love for the outdoors, we've been fortunate to embark on some truly unforgettable journeys over the years. But adventure doesn’t always have to span weeks—it’s often the simple, spontaneous moments that leave the strongest impressions. Whether it’s rolling out a sleeping bag on a Friday evening, tracing quiet forest paths, or diving into a weekend adventure race, these micro escapes bring just as much thrill as a three-week expedition.
And with new plans constantly taking shape, some adventures will stretch our comfort zones, while others will guide us to fresh destinations. The spirit of discovery is alive in every step—we’re simply chasing the joy of movement, connection, and curiosity wherever it leads.

Macro Adventures
Our Macro Adventures: Where Boundaries Become Pathways
Our macro adventures are not your average getaways—they're multi-day or even multi-week expeditions that demand commitment, preparation, and a whole lot of heart. These are the journeys where we dig deep, both physically and mentally, pushing our limits a little further each time.
What sets them apart isn’t just the scale. It’s the mindset: to immerse ourselves in local cultures, connect meaningfully with the people we meet, and explore off-the-beaten-path destinations that rarely make it onto glossy brochures.
These adventures, although mapped by GPS—are mainly guided by curiosity, serendipity, and a desire to experience the world as it truly is. Whether it’s navigating forgotten trails, sharing meals in remote villages, or listening to stories passed down through generations, we believe that real discovery lies in the moments between the milestones.

Micro Adventures
Our Micro Adventures: Everyday Escapes with Big Impact
Micro adventures are our way of embracing spontaneity. Whether it's a one-day hike, a weekend paddle, or a last-minute entry into a race, these adventures keep the spirit alive between the bigger expeditions.
Sometimes meticulously planned—like local races or training challenges—but often, they unfold in a moment of “why not?” A free afternoon, a good weather window, or a sudden craving to explore a forgotten trail is enough to spark a micro adventure into existence.
What they lack in length, they make up for in intensity, joy, and connection. These small-scale escapes recharge us, remind us why we love the outdoors, and offer just the right dose of inspiration to dream even bigger.

Adventure equipment
For the adventure trips, I tend to keep using the same equipment that has proven itself over and over again. Where some of the equipment (tyres,...) changes, some equipment is just to good to replace. On these adventures where I need to get from point A to B, I can't afford to lose time between the stages because of faulty equipment, so I pick the gear I can trust.
So here is a quick overview of the equipment I use:
a) Bike: Trek checkpoint ALR : A robust gravel bike that allows me to comfortable hit the gravel and tarmac roads. As I always plan my routes taking the quieter backroads, surfaces can be rough (even for the tarmac roads)
b) saddle: Brooks Swift: comfort is key, so my choice is a brooks saddle. The swift is a narrow race saddle
c) Watch: Polar: I have been a fan of Polar for the last 30 years, and over the years have used a good few of their watches. Each of the newer watches provides me with more detail. The latest one I am using is the Polar Vantage V which I have been using since its launch in 2018. I might upgrade to the soon to be launched Polar Grit X Pro 2
d) Bags: Ortlieb: I have been using Ortlieb bags for the last 30 years, and even when cycling through days of torrential downpours, I am guaranteed dry clothes.
e) Glasses: Oakley: I have been a fan for years
f) Shoes: Salomon & Merrell... Where I am a huge fan of barefoot shoes and basically wear these the whole time (Yes, I like to feel the terrain), I move to Salomon Speedcross when the terrain gets really rough and technical.
Although we love these brands, we test new equipment on an ongoing basis as well.
